It's "Favorites Friday" | Five Foods I Must Try

Wow, that week flew by. I had wanted to come on here earlier and give some updates but here we are at Friday.

So - what's new this week? Hmm... it was horrible. Those changes I mentioned in life has its ruts... well we're still making our way through them and will have news soon! [fingers crossed] For now, let's forget all those people and places that think it's so much fun to put stress on a pregnant woman and her husband!! And, let's move onto food. Because we all know retail therapy - which I'm limited to at the moment - and food, cure all! haha Okay not all, but pretty close.

That brings me to another Favorites Friday... this time five foods I've been dying to make off of my food & drink board on Pinterest (come follow me). Anyways, here goes!

Nothing like a bunch of comfort food! I love fall... and my waistline right now could handle the extra goodness... I'm sure ;) Have a great weekend out there... today's the hubby's birthday so I've convinced him to at least go out for dinner (he's a no fuss, forget it's even happening type of birthday guy). It's Finally Happening!

Before you say anything... I know what you're thinking. They haven't even finished the nursery and here they are building a fireplace mantel... (oh please don't remind me). Truth is, the mantel is a must before any baby showers or baby visits or Christmas (sorry I had to say the word) takes place. HA - my priorities are a little bonkers these day. But the hubby is on it so I'm not going to say no!

Do you remember last year when I wrote about the future mantel? Yah, I think we had intentions of building it in the New Year... technically it's still the new year... right? Well, it's finally happening. Last night I taped out the outline to get an idea of size... (Please forgive the picture, I took it with my phone at night so I could get this post written ASAP!)

Anyways, I have to ask... is it too big? Here are a few photoshop attempts to get an idea... again, horrible pictures but you get the idea. (The original is at the top and then I have distorted it a bit to get different sizes.)

Okay, what's you're vote? Let me know how big you think the mantel should be and hopefully we can get it started this weekend! (Did you notice I said we... I really doubt I'll be doing any part of it other then painting...) Anyways, I think #1. I had it taped out that big but I was doubting it as I stared at it last night - but now I'm confident that the room can handle it.

For better lighting on where it will be, check out the "formal" living room post I did a while back. I just realized we have two other pieces of furniture in there and I've never shared the update. I'm starting to realize how lazy of a blogger I am in the summer. :)

Happy Monday! No? Okay, if you're like me... Monday's are the enemy of the week. I absolutely hate Mondays. But I'm pretty sure you've heard this rant before, so, I've decided to try and cheer everyone's Monday up with a free fall printable!

It's been a long time since I've done a freebie around here. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of this summer. It didn't seem to be the greatest one in terms of weather and well, there's just something about fall. Coziness, sweaters, cool crisp air, colorful leaves... and of course, the delicious food that comes with the harvesting.

Since we have put all renovations to a halt, I'm dying to go out and buy some fall decorations! And then I thought, why not create one for you too. While I was making it and taking pictures... I found the perfect spot for it in the kitchen - love!! Anyways, here it is, my free fall printable.

I can't wait to bake a pumpkin pie or even my hubby's favorite pumpkin cake (I really need to update the photos on that recipe). Wow it has been forever since I've done a Favorite's Friday... I guess that shows how lazy I've truly been... but I really am trying... so you must forgive me. :D

Oh and guess what? I know everything lately seems to be baby... well, not today! I've decided to share my dream home with you - the one I have on Pinterest. And, I can't say I'll only be sharing five pictures, we'll have to wait and see... because it's been forever and I've done a lot of pinning while I've been away.

Anyways, dream away. Here goes.

I don't need a huge home, just one big enough for our soon to be little family. But, it must have a wrap around porch... and some character. I will take one of these please... (maybe in a different color though).

The Little Man's Wardrobe

I'm going to apologize now for all of the baby talk... this definitely wasn't suppose to turn into a baby blog... but it's the easiest thing for me to talk about while it is so busy and, well, we're expecting the little man. 

This week is hectic, between work - we have our second largest tradeshow of the year, I was supposed to go (to Amsterdam) but I really shouldn't be flying. And well, it's Spencerville Fair time... and as some of you know, the hubs and I are on the committee so we're spending most of our week and weekend volunteering.

So, my only update I can give you is my crazy obsession with shopping. Not going to lie... little clothes are so cute!! I don't ever remember having great fashion when I was a kid... I mean if it was hot pink or purple I would wear it... but it wasn't all fashionista.

But... welcome to 2013... and Baby Gap... let's just say this little wardrobe was purchased a month or so ago and I still go in and hold up the little 0-3 Months outfits and giggle. They are just so cute. (Yes I bought every color in the striped shirts)

It's funny. At first the hubs was like, don't they just wear onesies for the first little while. I'm like they can... and of course he will where them sometimes (yes we do have some of those too)... but he's also gotta be on top of his fashion for visitors and going shopping. ;)

The shopping didn't stop there though. I went on OshKosh the other day and almost died. I was like hubs... I want, I want, I want. Well I managed to convince him that buying the next size up would be a great idea. So... the little man is now full fashion for at least 6 months! Isn't this stuff just so cute??

Okay... I think I'm having too much fun with this. I still need some shoes for the little man and some leggings.. I absolutely love those things, but I'm having a hard time finding boy ones at a great price! Anyways... for those of you who are wondering, we do have a registry list. YUP!!! And, I am ready to spill it.

For those wondering... it is located at www.myregistry.com - just enter my name and our list will pop up. I love this website. I can shop anywhere on the internet and add it to this registry. Some items are just generic and can be picked up pretty much anywhere and others are wishes - things I love and are unique and, of course, likely from Etsy. Anyways... that's it. I may just go back to shopping again... I now understand why mom's say their wardrobe lacks after having kids...

P.S. We are slowly getting the basement ready to move the office down and the nursery will be on it's way... I'm just going to instagram a whole bunch of pictures and post them, because it's taking me forever to get around to a post!

The Word is Out...

We finally released the news... I wanted to hold on to it until after the maternity shoot photos, but that meant I'd have to delete things from my registry that would give away the gender. I apologize to everyone that has already heard but for those of you who haven't...

That means that promise for nursery updates can officially begin. I know I was supposed to post last week, and while it's pretty gender neutral/modern... I would have had to remove all of the clothes I have been buying. :)

Anyways, here I am... heading into week 28, month 7, trimester 3 (baby bump update soon)! YAY! I'm hoping it brings a lot more energy... not going to lie, I spent the weekend being lazy... once again. ERR... Bring on that energy... there is so much left for me to do! Anyways, here's to more posts and hopefully a great day back to school for all of the kids. :)
